Pismaniye are one of the most famous oriental sweets.
The earliest recipe for pishmaniye is given in the book of doctor Servani in the 1430s.
Turkish “Pishmaniye”, in Iran it is called “Pashmak”, in China “Dragon’s Beard”, and in Korea “Honey Ball”.
And indeed, this bright sweetness visually resembles a twisted lush skein of threads, which supposedly hides some secret.
Pishmaniye consist of flour and sugar fried in oil,
sometimes with the addition of pistachios, nuts, sesame, vanilla or other flavorings
and has a pronounced sweet taste.
The taste of “Pismaniye” is something between halva and cotton candy.
